Combining Music & Charity: Helping Hands Raises $3 Million, The Blacklist Donates $1 Million
With massive support from you, music has been our best tool to help others, and 2022 closed on an incredible high note with overwhelming support for December’s benefit show held in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater. The third Helping Hands Concert & Auction was a record breaker, raising an unbelievable $3,000,000! As always, 100% of the funds raised by All Within My Hands will go to the Foundation’s efforts supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.
The event wouldn’t have been the success that it was without the help of the night’s host, Jimmy Kimmel, an opening set from Greta Van Fleet, guest appearances from St. Vincent and Robert Downey Jr., all the honorees who do essential work year-round, our sponsors including Carhartt, Virgin Hotels, Analog Devices, to name a few, and of course YOU! To everyone who bought tickets, streamed the show on Parmount+, participated in the auction, or donated any amount: none of this would be possible without the Metallica Family.
Not only did AWMH’s marquee event make a splash, but The Metallica Blacklist (2021) recently completed its first round of donations generated by the album, and the total exceeded $1,000,000!
In celebration of 30 years of Metallica, over 50 artists spanning genres, generations, and geographic regions came together to create their own interpretations of Black Album tracks and raise money for causes important to them. All profits from the album go to charity, with half donated to AWMH and the other half split between organizations of each artist’s choice.
Once again, we’d like to give a huge, heartfelt thanks to all of you who continue to join us in putting some good back out into the world!
