Celebrate Record Store Day With Us

  	      We had the thrill of kicking off the very first Record Store Day by meeting many of you at an in-store appearance at Rasputin Music in Mountain View, CA in April of 2008.  Eight years later, with many successful Record Store Days in the history books, we are humbled and honored to announce that we are 2016’s official Record Store Day Ambassadors!  This year on April 16th we’ll be joining forces with over 1,400 independent record stores in the States to celebrate our favorite neighborhood music shops.  
  
  	      This year’s Record Store Day theme is the support of our French family who suffered bewildering losses in 2015, so what better way to lend a hand than to visit the vaults and share our performance at Le Bataclan, Paris in June of 2003?  We'll be releasing Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica! - Live at Le Bataclan, Paris, France - June 11th, 2003 featuring a live recording from the club. The nine-song set has been re-mixed and will be available on CD exclusively to independent retail and on Metallica.com with all profits from sales going directly to the victims of the Parisian attacks.   	      Record stores are where our musical education began and was subsequently nurtured and shaped, playing a huge role in who we are as musicians today.   Since this special day’s inception back in 2008 with ten exclusive releases, the celebration has spread worldwide and expanded to almost 350 unique offerings from a wide variety of artists this year. It’s important for us to support this cause and encourage music fans everywhere to experience the exciting, inspiring, nostalgic journey through the world of music stores that we were fortunate enough explore in our formative years.
