Join Lars for Front Row

Fifth Members! We managed to find a way to sneak a few more of you into Lars’ event at UC Berkeley. Head over to the Met Store to buy up to two tickets. Tickets are $5.50 each and they are limited, so don’t wait! These tickets are specifically for Fifth Members… you do NOT need to be a student at UC Berkeley to purchase one. (Fifth Member tickets are now SOLD OUT!)

All Fifth Member ticket holders will be entered to win a chance to meet Lars before the event. If you’ve already purchased tickets, there’s nothing else you need to do… just keep an eye on your inbox prior to the event for an invitation.

We’ve always been proud of our Bay Area roots, so when the University of California in Berkeley came to us with a very unique opportunity to celebrate our hometown, we jumped on it. On Wednesday, March 2nd at 7:00 PM at Zellerbach Hall on the UC Berkeley campus, Lars will kick off the very first Front Row in conjunction with the Student Curators of Cal Performances. Lars will bring together some of his most inspiring friends and colleagues from the worlds of music, design, film and tech to explore why many of the world’s creative leaders and thinkers choose the Bay Area as their home.

Joining Lars on stage will be, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Chairman and CEO, Salesforce Marc Benioff, bassist Les Claypool, actor and activist Peter Coyote, James Hetfield (yes, our very own), filmmaker Jonathan Parker (Untitled, Bartleby, The Californians, The Architect), Co-founder of Turner Duckworth, designer David Turner (Death Magnetic, Lulu and Through The Never album packages), and Lars’ father Torben Ulrich, who at 87 is still active in music, film and poetry. The night promises a one of a kind experience exploring creativity and the collaborative process, storytelling and independent thinking from a diverse group of innovators.

Tickets will be on sale later today, February 16th, beginning at noon for only $5.00. Seating is general admission and tickets will be sold to current UC Berkeley students only, one ticket per student available in person at Zellerbach Hall, online at calperformances.org/front-row and over the phone by calling 510-642-9988.

Metallica Fifth Members may also purchase up to two tickets per member while supplies last in the Met Store.

Following the event, an after-party for all ticket-holders will take place in the Zellerbach Hall lobby with complimentary soft drinks and live DJing by Son of Ammo, also selected by the Front Row Student Curators of Cal Performances.

Come out and support Lars for another Metallica first! For more information, please visit Calperformances.org.
