This was the sixth weekend as part of the M72 World Tour.
This was the first show of the North American leg of the M72 World Tour.
This was the band’s 17th show in East Rutherford, NJ. They first played here on April 21, 1986 at Brendan Byrne Arena while opening for Ozzy Osbourne.
Metallica last played MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Giants & New York Jets on May 14, 2017.
Metallica first played Giants Stadium, in its previous incarnation, on June 26, 1988 as part of Van Halen’s Monsters of Rock.
This was the first time in 20 years that “Harvester of Sorrow” and “Battery” were played in East Rutherford. It was last performed here on July 8, 2003 at Giants Stadium.
This was the first time that “Holier Than Thou,” “72 Seasons, “If Darkness Had a Son,” “Shadows Follow,” “Orion,” and “The Day That Never Comes” were performed in East Rutherford.
This was the live debut of “Shadows Follow.”
This was the first time in 19 years that “King Nothing” was played in East Rutherford. It was last performed here on October 22, 2004 at Continental Airlines Arena.
