This was the first show of the M72 World Tour and the first of two nights in a “No Repeat Weekend” in Amsterdam.
This was the band’s 30th show in the Netherlands. They first performed in the country on February 11, 1984 in Zwolle and first performed in Amsterdam on December 7, 1984
This was the first time in nearly 12 years that “Orion” was the opening song, and only the fourth time over the course of Metallica’s career. The epic instrumental last opened a show on December 10, 2011 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA.
This was the first time in 14 years that “Holier Than Thou” was performed in the Netherlands. It was last played here on June 20, 2009 in Nijmegen. It hasn’t been performed in Amsterdam since June 21, 2004.
This was the first time in 24 years that “King Nothing” was performed in the Netherlands. It was last played on May 23, 1999 in Eindhoven. This was the first time the song was performed in Amsterdam.
These were the live debuts of both “Screaming Suicide” and “Sleepwalk My Life Away.”
This was the first time in six years that “The Day That Never Comes” was played in Amsterdam. It was last performed here on September 4, 2017 at Ziggo Dome.
