So What!’s 72 Seasons Coverage - Editor’s Note
Hi folks, April 14 is fast approaching, and I’m sure the excitement is reaching a fever pitch (with good reason, I might add). ***So What!*** has been documenting Metallica’s history since 1993. It stands as a chronicle of where the band was “at” during the decades. The editorial has consistently reflected and told the stories behind albums, tours, movies, and festivals, with plenty of other areas and people documented, too. The ***72 Seasons***-era will be no exception when it comes to coverage, and we look forward to all these next two years will bring. Brett Murray and Jeff Yeager filmed each interview, so you can also look forward to some video footage from said conversations. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out four major discussions with James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert, with RT kicking things off today. They are holistic conversations covering the creative cycle of ***72 Seasons*** and the men behind it. These discussions have always been the part of my job I love the most, and it is only possible because these chaps are extremely honest, open, and trusting when we sit down together. We will also be conversing with those closely tied to the ***72 Seasons*** album, from production to video to design. These are not especially short stories. In fact, if I were you, I’d pull up a comfy chair, pour yourself a beverage (or two), and settle in for the long haul. Before I leave you to get sucked into RT’s piece, I want to make sure you all know the names of the super hard-working team at Met Club and HQ who continually go above and beyond (in no particular order): Dan, Jeff Y., Addie, Jena, Austin, Brett, Audrey, Renee, Jon-Michael, Amanda, Alyssa, Devin, Evan, Morgan, Suzanne, Jeff P, Alex, Anna (and the Blackened crew), Brie, Lane, Marc, and Vickie. Enjoy the content of these conversations and the deep dives into each respective person’s area of expertise. And I know I don’t need to tell you to enjoy the album… that’s guaranteed! Steffan\ SW!
