Once Metallica took the stage, that energy flipped on its head. Devil horns and fists were raised into the air. Heads snapped furiously back and forth. The crash of drums shook the stadium. It was the raw, unflinching power that made Metallica a giant among metal acts. The stage for the M72 World Tour was appropriately grand, a maze of platforms, runways and lighting rigs that took up much of the floor.
