The Sun Chronicle: Metallica rocks first night at Gillette Stadium with no-repeats setlist

Drummer Lars Ulrich recalled to the packed stadium that it had been 41 years since the band’s first show in the Boston area. He and James Hetfield (lead vocals, guitar), Robert Trujillo (bass, backing vocals) and Kirk Hammett (lead guitar, backing vocals) rocked their hits from a dynamic ring stage at the center of the stadium to fans both young and old.
