Datebook: Two films of Metallica’s 40th anniversary shows at Chase Center to be released — with more in works
Metallica will release two separate “re-edited and remixed” concert films documenting its 40th anniversary shows at Chase Center in San Francisco, as part of the band’s partnership with the Coda Collection to release a series of concert and documentary films spanning its entire career.
As of Thursday, March 24, the subscription streaming service made two classic Metallica concert films — 1998’s “Cunning Stunts” and 2019’s “Orgullo, Pasión, y Gloria: Tres Noches en la Ciudad de México” available to stream. It will follow those titles with a pair of “Metallica 40th Anniversary Live” concert films, recorded in December and scheduled for release March 31 and April 7, respectively.
