Metallica Saved My Life at the Mill Valley Film Festival
We’re excited to be back with news about Metallica Saved My Life, our film exploration of our world through the lives of fans. After officially premiering at the prestigious Tribeca Festival in June, the movie will make one more festival appearance this year with two showings at the highly regarded Mill Valley Film Festival taking place in our own Bay Area backyard next month, October 9 and 10, 2025.
On Thursday, October 9, the film will be the Centerpiece Screening at 6 PM at Sequoia Cinema in Mill Valley, CA. Lars and director Jonas Åkerlund will be on hand for a post-show conversation followed by a reception that evening. The next day, Friday, October 10, there will be a screening at the Rafael Theater in San Rafael, CA, at 3 PM with Jonas Åkerlund once again sticking around for a post-show Q&A.
Early bird tickets and passes for CALFILM members are on sale now. Tickets for Fifth Members will be available September 12-14…more details to come on that soon! General public tickets will be on sale September 18.
As we first announced in the spring, Metallica Saved My Life is all about you – the fans who have supported each other through highs, lows, trials, and triumphs for over four decades. And yeah, we’re in it a little bit too. Many of you were able to see the film in M72 cities this summer, look for a full release early next year.
