What is the Metallica Vinyl Club and how can I become a member?

The Metallica Vinyl Club is a subscription service that includes four 7” vinyl records, produced and shipped over the course of roughly a year-long term. These records will feature content never-before-released on vinyl, including but not limited to rare cuts, demos & rough mixes, and live rarities. Each subscription will also include a personalized membership card and select releases (not all four) throughout the year will include additional collectibles; this could be anything from exclusive stickers to picks or even posters. Additionally, all members will have the opportunity to purchase future exclusive Metallica Vinyl Club merch.

Each new subscription year, we will hold open enrollment for the Vinyl Club. Members will be able to choose whether they want one combined shipment per subscription period in which they will receive all four records at the end of the term when the final record has been released OR four separate shipments per subscription period in which they will receive each individual piece of vinyl as soon as it is released.

Please make your selection carefully as it cannot be changed once enrollment ends. For the members who opt to receive four shipments in the subscription year, you can choose to auto-renew your subscription and your payment method on file will be automatically billed at the start of the new term, retaining your membership status.

Members who opt for the one combined shipment of all four records will have the opportunity to re-enroll the following year and will have to do so manually. There is no auto-renewal for this subscription option.

Renewal notifications will be sent out before the next subscription term.

How do I change my shipping or payment information for my Vinyl Club subscription?

If you have opted to receive four shipments per subscription year, you can change your shipping and billing information using the following steps:

  • Log in to your account on Metallica.com and navigate to “My Account
  • Select “Manage Subscriptions”
  • Locate the Metallica Vinyl Club subscription and click “Edit Subscription"
  • You can edit your shipping address and credit card information in the pop-up screen

If you have opted to receive one combined shipment per subscription year and you need to update your shipping and/or payment information, please contact customer service by opening a support ticket.

One or more components of my delivery arrived damaged or did not arrive with the rest of the shipment. What do I do?

Please open a support ticket with our customer service department within fourteen days of delivery and we will be happy to address the damaged or missing item(s). Please be prepared to provide detailed photos of damage.

If we have sufficient inventory to replace a damaged item, depending on the degree of damage, we will gladly provide a replacement. If we require the return of a damaged item, we will provide a prepaid return label and the return must be received before we send a replacement.

If we do not have sufficient inventory to replace a damaged component, you may be offered a store credit in lieu of a replacement.

Can I return a Vinyl Club shipment for a refund?

Vinyl Club shipments are not eligible for refunds.

How long will it take to receive my shipment?

We will announce release and shipment dates throughout the subscription year. You will receive notifications with tracking information when your shipment leaves our facility.

In order to provide a cost-effective shipping method, most domestic orders will be delivered using USPS Media Mail and can take 2-10 business days to arrive once the tracking has registered in the postal carrier database.

If you prefer, you can select UPS Ground when you join the Vinyl Club, which will offer a shorter transit time.

Vinyl Club members outside of the United States can choose from USPS Priority International, UPS Mail Innovations International, and UPS Worldwide Expedited. Because customs processing times vary from country-to-country, we cannot provide a delivery date estimate. Tracking information will be provided at the time of shipment and we encourage you to closely monitor the tracking reports from the carrier as additional steps may be required to receive your delivery.

The Met Club is not responsible for import fees, taxes, or duties imposed by your country and they are not included in your shipping cost.

When can I sign up for the Vinyl Club?

We are currently accepting members for the inaugural Metallica Vinyl Club until March 31st. Once this subscription period closes, we will be unable to accept new members until we reopen enrollment for the 2021 subscription year. The dates for the next subscription year will be announced on Metallica.com along with the band’s social media platforms in advance. The best way to stay up-to-date on all Metallica news (including Vinyl Club) is to create a free account on our site and opt in to our newsletter. You can also visit the News Section for updates.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Vinyl Club Subscriptions cannot be cancelled mid-subscription year, but you can choose not to renew after a subscription year has come to an end. If you have opted to auto-renew but would like to cancel your subscription during open enrollment, you can do so under “My Subscriptions” on the “My Account” page. Just click “Cancel Renewal” and confirm by clicking “Yes” in the following window.

Is there any Vinyl Club Exclusive Merchandise to go along with the records?

All Vinyl Club Members will have the opportunity to purchase future exclusive Metallica Vinyl Club merch. Members will be the only ones eligible to purchase these products and will be notified of all subsequent merch releases via their email address on file. Non-music merchandise purchased in addition to your vinyl subscription will be subject to the same terms as other purchases from our store, including but not limited to our return and exchange policies.
