Metallica machen beim Sachsen-Konzert vor 12.000 Fans deutlich, warum sie nach wie vor eine der stärksten Rockbands des Planeten sind.
In February of 2017, we announced the formation of our All Within My Hands foundation, dedicated to assisting and enriching the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band for years, as well as encourage participation from fans and friends. We’re excited to take the next step in giving back and today have launched an all-new website, allwithinmyhands.org, to let you know what we’ve been up to, keep you posted on new activities, and provide you with a place to read up on the causes we support and ways you can assist.
One thing I am absolutely sure of in the aftermath of the opening night of leg one of Metallica’s European WorldWired tour…there wasn’t one single Dane (or any other nationality for that matter) inside of Royal Arena who was unhappy they had to come back to see this make-up show from February’s cancellation! At the time, it likely felt like the worst thing in the world – an egregious act which could never quite be recovered even after the band assured all they would kick things off in Copenhagen for all ticket holders. But not anymore. Because this was the night Metallica unveiled a completely new, never-seen-before approach to enjoying their music live, bringing into the hard rock arena the sort of lighting and video you’d associate with enormous theatrical productions.
Metallica's 23rd show in Sweden is happening right now! Show started with Hardwired, Atlas, Seek, and now Horse! Unforgiven is next!
We’re excited to announce a big step in our endeavors to give back and share some of our good
Master of Puppets has been named as one of the top 40 albums of the past 50 years in today's paper of USA Today. The list also includes Frank Sinatra, Joni Mitchell, The Ramones, Stevie Wonder, Eminem, U2, Paul Simon and The Clash among others.
Watch Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Lars Ulrich taking part in the sixth annual ‘Metallica Night’ with the San Francisco Giants at the AT&T Park.
Kirk played the U.S. national anthem during the pre-game ceremony, while Lars threw out the first pitch – and you can watch both below.
This Friday, April 13th, Metallica will release a remastered reissue of The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited, their hard-to-find 1987 rarity featuring covers of the Misfits, Diamond Head, Killing Joke and more. The Big 4 thrashers' reinterpretations took form in the garage of drummer Lars Ulrich's house in El Cerrito, California, just down the street from 3132 Carlson Boulevard — Metallica's longtime HQ, which has since been razed. Over 30 years later, James Hetfield's garage days live on in a custom-built electric guitar named "Carl," built from salvaged wood. The source? The shed on 3132 Carlson Boulevard.
Metallica wrapped up the latest European leg of their "WorldWired Tour" in Geneva, Switzerland, last night, April 11th. As with previous stops, the Big Four thrashers' performance found guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo forgoing the band's usual mid-set break to cover an artist hailing from that night's city. This time around, they paid tribute to Celtic Frost's pioneering late bassist, Martin Eric Ain, with a fiery "doodle" of the icons' "Procreation (Of the Wicked)," which appeared on the Swiss band's 1984 debut Morbid Tales.

Metallica has long been a sports arena mainstay, whether an in-house arena goes with something obvious like “Enter Sandman” or a deeper cut like “Seek and Destroy.”
For Game 4 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final, the San Jose Sharks are going beyond the DJ to have Metallica rev up the crowd by playing the national anthem.
Since the 2000 season, Metallica's "Enter Sandman" has been Virginia Tech football's unofficial theme song, blaring over the Lane Stadium loudspeakers when the Hokies emerge from the tunnel.
Sometimes the name says it all. And, with their moniker, Metallica has, more or less, set the bar to be the most metal band on the scene, going as far back as their genesis in 1981. Today’s current line-up features James Hetfield (lead vocals, guitar), Kirk Hammett (lead guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums) and Robert Trujillo (bass). The quartet are at the top of their game, waving their heavy-metal flag to the masses in stadiums across America in support of their latest release Hardwired… To Self-Destruct.
Metallica cover band Sandman didn't expect to have a FedEx package waiting for them over the weekend when they arrived at FitzRay's, a London, Ontario club where the band was scheduled to play Saturday night. Inside, the Canadian group found an official, 41-page cease and desist letter from Metallica's lawyer for using "official, stylized logos … to identify or promote live musical performances through Facebook and YouTube." The cover band, formed in 1994, had been using their logo, an approximation of Metallica's redesigned logo introduced for 2003's St. Anger, for more than a decade. Yet this was the first time they had even heard from the band, much less received any sort of legal documents.
Some members of Metallica were definitely digging the dancing queen during the band’s Monday concert at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm.
Bassist Robert Trujillo and guitarist Kirk Hammett performed a cover of ABBA’s 1976 smash “Dancing Queen” during their “doodle” solo segment on the 38-date European leg of Metallica’s WorldWired Tour, where the two bandmates take time out from the set list to pay tribute to local legends in various cities.
Metallica spelade i Sverige nyligen.
Bandet väljer nu att skänka en del av intäkterna till Stockholms hemlösa.
