Return To Lolla!

It's been nearly 20 years since we've been lucky enough to take the stage at Lollapalooza, so we are over the top that we've been asked to play this year at the now annual extravaganza held at Grant Park in Chicago. We'll be hitting the stage on Saturday, August 1st.

The three-day festival takes place this year July 31-August 2, but only single date tickets are still available. Pick yours up starting TODAY at 10:00 AM local time at Lollapalooza.com.

See you this summer in the Windy City!

The Pop-Up Stores Return

We’re back... and so are the pop-up stores!  We are so excited to return to the road and bring our brand new indoor show to arenas all over Europe.  And in the grand tradition that started a little over a year ago in Minneapolis and carried on into Copenhagen and North America in 2017, the pop-up shops are well, popping up again!  We’ll be setting up stores in a few tour cities so that you can grab your WorldWired gear in advance and check out some cool new, exclusive and collectible items.

Bad Feeling Magazine: Live Review: Metallica’s Hardwired tour focuses on the basics, despite its massive production

At the very end of Metallica’s triumphant return to Montreal on Wednesday night, Kirk Hammett walked up to the microphone and began to reminisce. He told the crowd that the band has performing in Montreal for over 32 years. And it’s true. The very first time Metallica ever performed in Montreal was on January 15th, 1985 at The Spectrum, during their Ride the Lightning tour. It was the same year the Nintendo Entertainment System and Microsoft’s Windows 1.0 were released. It’s safe to say, they’ve come a long, long way.

WorldWired Tour Rolls On To Seoul

We’re excited to kick off 2017 with the first show of what promises to be a year taking us to all corners of the globe on the WorldWired Tour. The New Year will be just over a week old when we return to Seoul, South Korea on January 11, 2017 at the Gocheok Sky Dome for the first of six shows in that corner of the world... stay tuned for additional announcements in the coming days and weeks.

The Night Before

The sold-out stadium, with another 340,000+ around the world watching online, connected with an old school Metallica vibe for a roll-back-the-years metal revival which onstage showed that this lot must have done a deal with the guy downstairs because Metallica looked, and felt, completely ageless, timeless and as alive and relevant as ever. Yeah, yeah, platitudes you cry, but you only have to look back over the footage which is already out there, and let your own eyes and ears decide. They were sharp, razor sharp, yet with a warm and “welcome-to-the-shindig-raging kegger” vibe.

Reviews...

While we occasionally enjoy reading the various comments, rumors, speculation, reviews, gossip and all the good that the internet brings, rarely do we feel the desire/need to respond to the "blogosphere"... hey, everyone is entitled to have their thoughts and opinions, right? However, once we re-surfaced on Tuesday after a few weeks on tour in Europe, we were informed that someone at Q Prime (our managers) had made the error of asking a few publications to take down reviews of the rough mixes from the new record that were posted on their sites. Our response was "WHY?!!! Why take down mostly positive reviews of the new material and prevent people from getting psyched about the next record. . . that makes no sense to us!" So after a few rounds of managerial ear spank and sentencing everyone at Q Prime to 20 push-ups each, we figured why not take matters into our own hands and just…

A Busy Week for Metallica

Damn, things in 'Tallica land have been heating up lately and this week was no exception. From working on the Ramones tracks, to a secret gig in San Francisco in front of 100 people, to a NEW SONG played at that secret gig.

100 people in the crowd at this gig

Then the guys decided to jump in the Fan Club's chatroom and spend some time with the 20 unsuspecting fans in there. They were talking about everything from movies, bass players, how the new material sounds, to revealing the working title for the NEW song that was played the day before ("Dead Kennedy Rolls").

They are asking us what?

In the upcoming week, we will have more exclusive pictures from all of these happenings. In the meantime, here is an EXCLUSIVE Metallica.com video featuring clips from the secret gig earlier this week! How about "Hit the Lights" and "Leper Messiah"? The video would of course not be complete without…
