The very popular “Black Laminate” is back, now known as the “I Disappear Ticket,” and is the ultimate pass for the fan who wants to run away with us for multiple weekends. “I Disappear Tickets” for 2024 will remain on sale until further notice. On Saturday, June 8, the opening show of the Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2 tour will be seen at the Black Box of Helsinki Ice Hall. Spanning nearly fifty shows across Europe, the tour celebrates the sequel to Apocalyptica's debut album, Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, released in 1996.

Founding band leader Eicca Toppinen comments: “It’s incredible to think that after all these years, our tribute to Metallica still speaks so powerfully to people. To be able to share our love for Metallica’s music with the live audience is an absolutely magical experience. This time the show is going to be next level, and we can’t wait to get back out there and share the fun with our fans!”

ROSS HALFIN Q&A + BOOK SIGNING

Photographer Ross Halfin has worked with Metallica for four decades. His latest official Metallica book, Metallica: The Black Album in Black & White (Reel Art Press), celebrates one of the best-selling albums of all time and includes classic and previously unpublished photos. Halfin, with his cameras, was with the band during the album's recording at Hollywood's One on One studios and throughout the extensive tour that followed.

Halfin's intimate book sessions include a slideshow, often featuring images from the previous night's performance, and the opportunity to ask the photographer questions. The presentation usually lasts 45-60 minutes, and then attendees can get the book signed by Halfin, which they can bring with them to the event.

Cliff ‘Em All
Cunning Stunts
Orgullo, Pasión y Gloria

The afternoon kicks off at 3 PM with Cliff 'Em All, originally released on VHS in 1987, serving as a tribute to the late original bassist Cliff Burton and featuring performances from 1983-1986. The film fest continues at 5 PM with Cunning Stunts, released in 1998 and filmed in Fort Worth, Texas, in May 1997 during the Poor Touring Me tour supporting Load. The final screening, Orgullo, Pasion Y Gloria: Tres Noches En La Ciudad De Mexico, starts at 7:30 PM and showcases some of the most enthusiastic and energetic fans Metallica has ever played in front of.

Comprised of well-known Finnish metal & rock musicians, Finland's premium Metallica tribute band brings down the house with their authentic, energetic performance during the Metallica Helsinki Takeover event.

During this special day and night Finnish Metallica Tribute will play two sets: Metallica's legendary debut album Kill 'Em All in its entirety, and a celebration set for the 40th anniversary of Metallica's iconic sophomore release Ride The Lightning.

Throughout the day, On The Rocks' DJ's will play special Metallica-themed sets at the street & terrace bar.

The free-access Fan Zone, set up in the Helsinki Ice Hall parking lot and indoor areas, offers diverse programming and a place for Metallica fans from all over to meet each other. The Fan Zone is open from Friday to Sunday before and after the concert. It features activities, a terrace, and various restaurants.

On Sunday morning at the Royal Restaurant inside the ice hall, a Takeover Black brunch will be served from 12 - 3 PM, which can be ordered in advance online.
