The Loss of a Fan

The Loss of a Fan

Morgan's family have developed two programs that honor Morgan's interest in education. The Morgan Dana Harrington Memorial Scholarship has been established at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Virginia:

Morgan worked with her father at the medical school last summer and there and she found role models that over the summer helped her tremendously. The school is new and will enroll its first class in August 2010.

The second organization that they have recognized is OMNI - Orphan Medical Network International: OmniMissions.com.

For several years, Morgan and her mother Gil, volunteered with OMNI, which works with the underserved children and adults in Zambia Africa, OMNI is in the process of building an educational wing at their facility at George Compound in Zambia and have named the wing the Morgan Harrington Educational Wing.

Our most sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of Morgan Dana Harrington, the 20 year old Virginia Tech student who was last seen while attending our concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA. Sadly, Morgan's body was found yesterday ending her family's three month vigil hoping and praying for her safe return. Mere words cannot express the anguish and grief that we know her parents Dan and Gil are feeling, and our thoughts are with them.

If you have any information at all about Morgan's death, please contact the Virginia State Police at (434) 352-3425 or the UVA Police at (434) 352-3467 or police@virginia.edu.
