After a late flight last night, and an early wake up call, I met up with the crew shortly before 8 am for set up. It's one of those "hurry up and wait" type days. There are like four other bands playing tonight, and it was interesting to see the stage hands wheel around these different drum kits. Kinda like tetris on a large scale. The boys had sound check in the afternoon, and they pretty much blew out the room. I think everyone in the hotel heard them. Better pass out ear plugs with desert!! Next report after the show. There have been a wide range of discussions around the HQ water cooler lately. Some examples: What gear to bring to NY for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame gig, what gear is staying at HQ, what songs to play in South Africa, what shots you need to take before going to South Africa, what pills you need to take before and during the South Africa trip, and you can't forget about the typhoid! (see the pic) Oh, and by the way, the Sabbath stuff sounds KILLER!!!

They have been rehearsing some Sabbath material. I'm sure you are asking "Hey, what the fuck are they gonna play?!?!?" Well, that also to is a surprise. More to come...

Some songs are just so good that the band had to play them twice during rehearsals today! Will they be played twice in South Africa? Who knows! Pics from today are up. And did someone say something about a surprise? Stay tuned!

Metallica will embark on a weekend outing to Japan in August to headline the Summer Sonic Festival! It should be a very great and quick visit to the Land of the Rising Sun. The band are currently in the studio writing new material. When rehearsals for South Africa begin, we'll have some pics for ya!!

Metallica will be going back to the Heineken Jammin Festival in Italy on June 17! Tickets on sale March 2nd. The band headlined this festival back in 2003. Will there be more tour dates? Stay tuned!

Just got back to the hotel after helping with the load out. What a great show it was. Even though it was snowing outside, it was so hot inside, that James said it would make the snow melt. With the set that the boys played, it sure enough did. Setlist and pics are up!
