Hey, I recognize this place, we have been here before. The last time we were here, we were actually next-door at Giants Stadium during the Summer Sanitarium tour on July 8th 2003. Giants Stadium is just a football's throw away! As always, playing in the New York area is a great thing, but also pain involved. What am I talking about with pain? Front stage, it's all going to look the same, but backstage is a different story. It is similar to Los Angeles where everyone and their grandmother wants to come to the show. From what I heard, the guest list is pretty crazy. <p>Stay tuned, more to come! MOT

Now it is time to explain myself. Like I hinted earlier today, there was something special going on tonight. A few hours prior to the doors, we had four young kids between 9 and 15, playing on stage, while our guys were in the barricade applauing and screaming. What the hell was wrong with this picture? Let me explain... <p>Yesterday in the meet & greet Metallica hooked up with the young Metallica coverband Break The Chair. Metallica was so impressed and inspired by the kids, and decided to call them back and ask if they were interested in performing with the band tonight! Guess what their response was! These guys have done a few gigs in the past, but of course nothing like this. Before the show tonight, Break The Chair were rehearsing with our boys in the tuning room. "Are you guys nervous, how do you feel?", Robert asked them. "We are alright, no problem", they answered. <p>"We have made some new friends here in town, that have inspired us, and we would like to invite them on stage", said James. Up walks Andy, lead guitarist, age 11, Tom, drummer age 14. Matt, rhythm guitarist, age 9, and Mike, bassist and vocals, age 15. With no hesitation they put their instruments on and start Seek And Destroy. They only played the beginning of the song, and then our guys took over (to make sure they would not to be overshadowed???). The crowd and both bands had a big smile on their faces after the show. On a funny note, when Metallica said goodbye to the crowd and gave away guitar picks and drumsticks, Break The Chair wanted to be a part of the action too. They grabbed a bunch of guitar picks, and walked around to stage and threw them out in to the hands of the excited fans!<p>Speaking of setlist (I hear voices, that's why I said that!), the more rare ones tonight include: The Memory Remains, The Thing That Should Not Be, Bleeding Me, Holier Than Thou, Damage Inc. and Dyers Eve. <p>Speak to you very soon....MOT<p>PS: There was a REALLY rare one on the setlist tonight, but it got scrapped 5 minutes before showtime.....

Did I hear correct? Are they really going to do that? I guess only time will tell. We are backstage in Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center. Tonight is the second night in a row, and the rumours are flying backstage about something VERY cool going on tonight.<p>We also have tons of radio stations backstage, live and to tape. If you live in the area, tune in, there is a chance you will hear some familiar voices. <p>Stay tuned, or you will not be informed :)

Where the fuck do I start? This was a day where things just kept happening. It started off outside where the local radio station was blasting Metallica, and fans were headbanging and singing along. It was very cool to see (and hear!) fans just coming up, singing, air-playing, moshing and just having a good 'ol time. Then backstage things started to kick off to. One of the local radiostations WYSP had two grand prize winners come out. One of them got a guitar lessong from none other than Kirk, and the other one sang So What with the band. WOWIn the meet & greet we had one of the youngest (?) cover bands that the band has seen & heard of, Break The Chair. 4 young boys between 9 and 15. They brought their instruments, and throughout the meet & greet we heard a riff here and there. Good luck! Once again, we had a few Ulrich's backstage. Everything from Lars' two sons, to our favorite rocker Torben Ulrich! That's right, the band had a show to do too. On tonight's setlist we had, among others, Leper Messiah, Wherever I May Roam, King Nothing, The Unforgiven, The God That Failed, Fight Fire With Fire and Disposable Heroes. What will that leave us for tomorrow? Second show in Philadelphia coming up....

Watch out, we have another two in a row, better stay close to your computer! Not a beautiful day in Philadelphia, it is pouring down outside, or as the crew said when they arrived: "Thank f# that we are not doing a show outside today". Also, the rumours are that we will have some contest winners hanging out, maybe even jammin' with the boys? Let me follow up on that rumour...<p>Photos are up from loadin here at the Wachiva Center.

"We have not played that fucking song in like 10 years", said Lars on stage after they performed tonights surprise THE GOD THAT FAILED. Last time they performed the song was on Aug 26th, 1995 at Donington Park in England. The last time they performed The God That Failed in North America, was on Aug 21st, 1994 in Miami, FL.

There I was, running around Washington like a complete tourist, asking stupid questions like: "Hey, where is that big 'ol white house"? Washington is definitely an amazing city with some very impressive buildings. The security around town is very heavy, and also trying to get inside the MCI Center to work, was a big challenge too. When the band showed up around 5:30 they had some quick interviews to do, and then hang with their favorite people, the FanClubberz. We had another hero, Ian, from the Make A Wish foundation today, he flew all the way from England to get his wish granted, Meet Metallica! Lars asked if there was anything he could do to make sure Ian had a great day. Forward 10 minutes and there is Ian on drums, with Lars by his side helping out. Rob on bass playing For Whom The Bell Tolls, Ian on drums, and Lars on air drums. VERY COOL, and I am sure Ian had a good time too. Showtime, and we will have a BIG SURPRISE coming up. Last time performed in North America, 10 years ago!

We fucking love Quebec, you guys are fucking loud, THANK YOU..were some of the things the guys said to the incredible crowd here at the Pepsi Colisee. As I posted in my previous report, as tonight was the second night in a row here, we had some new tunes. The biggest surprise of the night was a song that they frequently played in 96-97 but it has not been played since May 26, 1997. Ok, I will stop wasting your time here..the song Metallica performed second to last tonight was none other than Wasting My Hate. A funny thing to note is that last time they performed it, was in Saskatchewan, CANADA. Hey Canada, you guys get many exclusives! <p>How did they perform Wasting My Hate and all those other killer songs on the list? Go to LiveMetallica.com and listen yourself! <p>We have a long busdrive coming up, 750 miles, next town Washington, DC. CYA
