The American Music Awards 2003 are finished. I think everyone in the crowd agrees that Metallica took home the “Loudest Performance” award of the day. There were many great vibes all around. The boys were stoaked when they finished their performance of St. Anger, and felt that the energy was at an all time high. Backstage, the band hooked up with old friends and some new ones: the Kid Rock camp, Rod Stewart, Weird Al, and many others. In a few minutes, the band will go to a plaque presentation held by Metallica’s record company, Elektra. Full review to come later on Metallica.com. Pictures will be up later tonight……

Band just finished full dress rehearsal. The Great Dane is back pounding the metal drums. He had a small audience for dress rehearsal which included Wierd Al right up front. The band is getting ready to walk on the red carpet. More to come! MOT

Sunday, Funday! We have the American Music Awards 2003 coming up today here in Los Angeles. I just received today's itinerary and according to it, we will be doing a full dress rehearsal around 1pm, and then sometime around 5pm the red carpet walk should start. I will try to cover all the action for you guys. I will have regular reports from today's event, photos will come after the day is over. Oh, I forgot to tell you which song they will perform, but unfortunately I have to run now so I don't have the time....MOT

I must admit, NOW I am tired. Woke up about 30 hours ago in Nagoya, JAPAN, and here I am at the hotel in Los Angeles ready for a few hours of sleep! Spent most of the day at the Shrine Auditorium to capture Metallica's rehearsal. Of course the day should not end there, right? Kirk told us that he wanted to head over to the Hollywood Palladium since he might want to jam with some friends. Kirk checked out System Of A Down's show and then he joined them during the song "Aerials." The benefit concert also featured the Red Hot Chili Peppers and was raising money for The Silverlake Conservatory of Music and The Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer CenterTomorrow will be a long & fun day at the AMA's, don't forget to tune in. Photos from rehearsals & Kirk's guest appearance are up.

Heads up from the Shine Auditorium in Los Angeles. We are here to do rehearsals for tomorrow's American Music Awards. Today's temporary dressing room is next to Britney Spears’ female dancers. (Not too shabby) Other acts performing tomorrow: Sheryl Crow, Evanescence, Fleetwood Mac, OutKast, Pink, Rod Stewart, and our good friends in the Kid Rock Camp. Crew is here setting up for rehearsals; band should be here within the hour. We are still a little jetlagged (been on the go since 8pm yesterday) to say the least. What song are they going to do? That’s right, keep on guessing, laters... MetOnTour

Nov 15, 3:05 PM Japan time. Last check in from Japan. Found a nice wireless connection and thought I would give you guys the latest scoop. There is actually no real scoop, except that today will be a long, long travel day. Took a bus from the hotel to the train station, then jumped on a train, then on another bus, and now here we are at the airport for a 10 hour long flight to Los Angeles. When we get there we will go straight to do some load in and other fun stuff. But you know what, IT'S ALL GOOD. Everyone including band & crew had a blast in Japan. The shows were fun, the setlists were fun (right??) and the Japanese people were awesome. Can't wait to come back here one day.The video that you guys requested, The Unnamed Feeling, should be up a few days after the AMA's. I got some great stuff from that day, including some very wise (?) words from our favorite Dane. Time to roll, I will catch up with you guys when I get to Los Angeles. Sayonara!

How about this? Metallica performed the Ramones' song "53rd & 3rd" LIVE tonight. This was also Lars Ulrich's debut as lead vocalist during the middle part of the song.(well, this year at least). The Nagoya show was the final show on the Japan Tour 2003. We had joy, we had fun, we had sake in the sun. Setlist is up, more pics to come. No sleep 'til LA, as band & crew make a dash for the American Music Awards, and some other fun. Speak to ya all soon....MOT
