Deftones just played their last song. The Metallica boys just arrived at the venue, they will shortly jump in the Meet & Greet with Fanclubberz. I was lying earlier, it ended up raining like a MuthaF*, but now, hopefully, we should be all set.

Nurburg, Germany, ready to rock in the ring..ROCK AM RING Festival! The last day of the festival and it is pretty much the same line-up as we had two days ago at the Rock Im Park show. The doors opened at noon, the first act, Boysetsfire, just walked on stage at 2:50pm. The band is scheduled to arrive around 5:30, they are coming in from Berlin. We had some rain earlier in the morning, but it looks like it cleared up now. Pics on the way...MOT

Context is everything. Yesterday, at the stadium show, Metallica certainly played hard and strong, but tonight, at the Park Wuhlheide in Berlin, Germany, they sniffed the air, caught the gasoline wafting from the until-8.35pm-were-quite-sedate crowd and decided not simply to put a match to them, but a canon of flame throwers. Quite simply, this was a superb show, smoking last night's previously-really-really-good set and adding further proof to the theory that these chaps never stopped touring, they just tok a little onger than usual off (production chief Dan Braun told me that, and I agree wholeheartedly).Opening with a fierce 'Battery', Metallica never looked back tonight, instead continuing to regenerate the energy being thrown their way tenfold. It really is a strange thing, given the fact that for the 4 hours prior to the band walking on-stage, it felt like a Sunday afternoon. And I mean that in the sense of how calm, cool and collected the band were. No-one could've predicted the energy that would come, nobody could have predicted the previously sleepy crowd's 180 degree turn and explosion into a frenzy and maybe more than anything, no-one could've predicted how FUCKING EXPLOSIVE THIS GIG WOULD TURN OUT TO BE. Set-list in the usual Nic place, and hey, before I sign off, can I tell you how much I noticed the guys enjoying '...Sandman' tonight? The crowd didn't mind it either!!! A good one indeed...

We had one other band joining us tonight, Disturbed. They just walked off stage after about an hour long set. The Metallica crew is getting ready for our boys to hit the stage. According to the schedule, Metallica will hit the stage at 8:35. Don't tell anyone, but I think they will open with Battery :)The band of course took time out of their day to say hi to some of the Clubberz that won a backstage pass. Check out the pix...MOT:)

Another day, another show...and I have now taken over from Niclas to offer true light and perspective on the events taking place (until I'm bumped again for tastier metal scribes!)...it's tour time again, the slumbering beast is awakening with vengeance and tonight's show is at a Berlin ampitheater which aparently sold-out within two hours of tickets going on sale. So expect some pretty raucous stuff tonight, and keep yer eyes peeled 'cause we're gonna tell you about it.

The band just started on St. Anger. I am working on getting some pics up for you. I also put together a 5 minute video from Milan the other day. A "typical" promo-day for Lars & Rob.
