It took a few days to recover from Metallica's Orion Music and More festival held here in Detroit at Belle Isle this past weekend and let's just say it was great times. After the first year held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, it was moved to Detroit due to better logistics. With its five stages full of energetic metal, punk and dubstep, it was a successful two-day event that was a great for the city of Detroit and music fans alike.

While we expected the mohawks, skull-crushed cans and the random yelling to cease and disappear on Day Two, Metallica's ORION MUSIC + MORE continued to erupt like a bat straight out of the fiery depths of hell. It's just this Sunday spilled more riffage than your average Deafheaven fan could handle. We didn't get the opportunity to catch every act that took the stage at Detroit's Belle Isle but the ones we did see wrote love letters to our skulls.

By Sunday afternoon, it was already easy to declare: At Belle Isle, Orion Music + More worked. With sublime weather along the Detroit River, the city's newest festival accelerated to a close Sunday evening, having drawn tens of thousands of rock fans for two days of music and good times.
