Cape Town #2 Video

The vid from the second Cape Town show is up. It's just a bit under 10 minutes and includes Fuel, Through the Never, and a Kirk Doodle. The vid for Abu Dhabi is up next but we can't give you a time frame - there were some technical issues while recording the audio for the show that is making the mixing process a bit tedious. Let's hope for the best and we appreciate your patience.

The video from Johannesburg is up... it's a 14-minute video featuring Ride and Creep from the show. Cape Town #2 should be up within the next few days.

We're going a bit out of order, but the vid from Cape Town #1 is up featuring performances of both "Leper" and "Motor". As the Live Met mixes are finished on the rest of the shows, the remaining videos will go up.

Golden Gods Video

A 16+ minute video from Revolver's Golden Gods Award Show. Since the show was filmed TV, we didn't film the actual performances which you've probably already watched online. Instead, enjoy Rapid Fire and Disposable Heroes from Soundcheck and Rapid Fire again, this time with Rob Halford, from Tuning.

Where are the videos from Abu Dhabi, Cape Town and Joburg? They'll be finished up as the Live Metallica mixes become available.

Pounding the World Like a Battering Ram

A great time tonight in LA - the boys ran into a lot of old friends including the Metal God himself, Rob Halford. After receiving the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award, the band ripped through Disposable and Bellz before bringing out Mr. Halford for a searing version of the Priest classic Rapid Fire. That should do it for the next month until Orion Music + More in Detroit. See you then!

The boys did a brief soundcheck a little bit ago. Pics are up from that. For those tuning in tonight, the boys should be on stage around 10:30 PM PST... tune in earlier to seem them receive their Lifetime Achievement award or, better yet, just watch the whole thing.

Golden Gods Tonight

The boys are receiving a Lifetime Achievement award tonight at Revolver's Golden Gods award show and will be performing, as well.

For the first time ever, the show will air on an exclusive national television broadcast through AXS TV, and global broadcast on XBOX Live and Facebook. The “Black Carpet” pre-show kicks off on May 2 at 7PM PST. The awards show starts at 8PM PST.

After a gig in Abu Dhabi and two shows in Cape Town, the boys wrapped up their short April tour with a stadium show in Johannesburg. This was Metallica's first visit to Jo'burg... the set kicked off with Lites, Puppetz and Ride and closed out with an encore of Creep, Battery and Seek. Next up will be the Golden Gods in Los Angeles next week and Orion Music + More in Detroit in June. Set is up, pics to come...

Setlist Shakeup

A great two-night stand in Cape Town has come to an end and the boys head to Jo'burg on Saturday. Tonight saw a setlist structure shake-up which saw the band opening the show with Creep and Fuel. Straw, Never, Memory, Cyanide, Justice, Evil and Fight were all played in Cape Town for the first time. Set is up, pics to come...

For the first time in seven years, Metallica is back in South Africa. The boys will be hitting the stage at the Bellville Velodrome here in Cape Town at about 9 PM. Hello from du Arena at Yas Island here in Abu Dhabi! Metallica last played here in October of 2011. Doors are set to open for these eager fans at 7, and Metallica will hit the stage around 9!
